Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

Do you have the Tri-Horse Work Station pre-made to sell?

A:

As of right now we do not have pre-made options. That is something we are looking into. However you can purchase the plans for making your own for $15 on our Purchase Plans page.

Q:

What am I getting when I purchase plans?

A:

The plans are a 12 page, PDF document. Plans are primarily for building three and four legged sawhorses. The plans are in heights of thirty, thirty two, thirty four and thirty six inches. These plans also include three length options of four, six, and eight feet long. There are photos of ways the horses can be used and some information about the hardware that can be used with them. These plans were originally created using a Trojan workstation but it has been discontinued, so the "Saddlebox" is the best option at this time. Metric plans available soon!

Plans can also be bought to be printed and shipped to you for an additional $10.

Q:

How much are the plans?

A:

The plans are $15 for the PDF copy or $25 for a printed and shipped copy.

Q:

What is the thickness of the plywood and how many sheets?

A:

They can be made from ¾” ACX plywood doubled, doubled up, one horse per sheet. A lighter version can be made with 1-1/8 “ plywood, instead of doubled ¾” ACX plywood. The light horses are also half the labor to build with no glue up and wield 2 horses per sheet of 1-⅛” plywood, instead of one horse per ¾” sheet. The light horse version also costs about 20% less.

Q:

What all is needed to construct the horse?

A:

Each saw horse is made from 1 4x8’ sheet of 3/4” plywood. ACX or CDX can be used.

The other item needed is construction adhesive or moisture resistant wood glue like Titebond 3.

The tools needed are:

Tape measure

Framing or drywall square

Chalk line

Circular saw or track saw

Jigsaw,

Drill and spade bits/hole saws.

Router, 3/8” straight bit and a small roundover bit.
